It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the last week of school for the class of 2026! Seniors will walk out on their high school career Thursday, May 14, at 12:15 PM (estimated). Parents who wish to decorate student cars can access the main parking lot at 11:00 AM. Parking is first come, first served, and once we are full, we are full. Please do not block roads or turn lanes.
After the walkout begins, students will walk through campus and exit out onto the back practice field. This is where parents are permitted to wait and celebrate with students. Parents can enter the practice field, which is located behind the cafeteria. We will open the gate beginning at 11:50 AM. Parents are asked to stay on the field as we still have school in session. Be advised, bathrooms will not be available on the field and we anticipate warm temperatures so plan accordingly and be mindful if you are bringing grandparents or young children.
Testing continues this week with AICE and AP testing. As a result of testing, the bells will be off so students need to ensure they are getting to and from class on time! On Tuesday, we will administer the biology and US History EOCs. We will operate on a modified schedule, and students will need their school issued device. As a reminder, we do not have spare devices to provide so please plan accordingly. Please see below for all modified schedules taking place this month.
Our final SAC meeting will take place on Monday, May 11, at 5:00 PM in the Media Center. We will elect an SAC Chair at this meeting for the 26-27 school year. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Following SAC, we will host our final PTSO meeting of the school year at 5:45 PM. Again, all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Parking clearance for the 2026-27 is now open. All requirements and the application are listed on our website:
https://windermerehs.ocps.net/253587_2. Please be sure to review the requirements and plan accordingly as parking is limited here at Windermere.
As we approach the end of the school year, I would encourage students to remain on their best behavior. We want to ensure all students finish the year on a positive note. Please be aware that backpacks will not be allowed on campus the last two days of the school year (May 26 and May 27). Students will be able to return their school issued device May 21 and 22 before the no backpack days. Any backpack brought on campus will be confiscated and stored in a secure location until the end of the school day. Lunch boxes and small purses are permitted.
As always, please be sure to regularly check our website and Facebook page for important updates.
Sincerely,
Mr. Leftakis
Principal
