Dual Enrollment Eligibility Requirements

A WHS student must meet the following requirements to be eligible to participate in the dual enrollment program at UCF:
  • Must have completed a minimum of 4 high school credits, which must include:
    • 1 English
    • 1 Math
    • 1 Science
    • 1 Social Science/World Language/additional Math
  • Must have a 3.8 high school GPA as re-calculated by UCF using only academic core courses.
  • Must have achieved a minimum standardized test score on either the SAT, ACT or CLT.
    • SAT: 1340 (Evidence-based Reading and Writing + Math)
    • ACT: 29 (Composite)
    • CLT: 96
  • Must be free of (or reviewed and cleared of) any charges or scholastic or behavioral misconduct, violation of the law, or felony charges or criminal proceedings (details in application).

Application Process For Dual Enrollment

ALL of the following must be received by the published semester application deadline:

  • Initial admission to UCF as a Dual Enrollment student is limited to the fall or spring semester; new Dual Enrollment students may not start in the summer term.
  • Completed online UCF application (dual enrollment students cannot submit the Common Application). No application fee is required.
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Official SAT (code: 5233) or ACT (code: 0735) or CLT scores
  • Official transcripts from all previous dual enrollment institutions (if applicable)
  • Official scores from any AICE, AP, CLEP, or IB exams taken (if applicable)
  • Only students whose materials have been received and processed by the published deadlines will be reviewed for admission to the UCF dual enrollment program. Satisfying minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to UCF.

Once students are admitted to Dual Enrollment:

  • Students will meet with their School Counselor about courses required for graduation and discuss with UCF Dual Enrollment advisors about what courses to take for their postsecondary goals, you can email them at dualenrollment@ucf.edu
    • Students are only permitted to take 6 credit hours per semester (typically 2 classes)
  • Students will complete a DE Authorization Form (from UCF) and provide it to the School Counselor to verify. The School Counselor will then submit the form for UCF for approval via email at dualenrollment@ucf.edu
  • Students must complete the Dual Enrollment Form and Contract and upload a copy of their Dual Enrollment Schedule at UCF to send to their school counselor (to get a copy of your UCF schedule, log in to the myUCF portal and go to the Student Center to view your class schedule).

Course List for UCF Dual Enrollment:

Dual enrollment students may choose from a list of recommended courses, including those that meet state core general education program requirements. Please note that the courses on this list are not guaranteed to be available, offered in a specific modality, offered at a specific campus location, or have open seats at the time of registration.

Students must meet course requirements as set forth in the university undergraduate catalog and transcript must show proof of credit for prerequisite course requirements to enroll.

Future admission to UCF as a degree-seeking student is not guaranteed via participation in the Dual Enrollment Program. Prospective students must reapply to UCF as FTIC (First Time in College) students.
