Thank you to those parents who joined us for the School Advisory Council (SAC) Interest Meeting held on 8/25/2025. As part of the current by-laws, elections must take place using the following format:
• Parents elect parents
• Teachers elect teachers
• Students elect students
• Support staff elect support staff
As such, please use this form
here to vote for those parents who expressed interest in being part of the SAC. Please cast your vote by Tuesday, September 2, so we can alert potential members in preparation for the first meeting on 9/8/2025. Thank you for your support of Windermere High School!
I would like to congratulate our 2025-26 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Amanda Newcomer! Ms. Newcomer is an amazing resource to our Advanced Studies Program, supporting both teachers and students. I would also like to congratulate our Support Person of the Year, Ms. Jennifer Howell. Many of you know her as the school secretary, but she supports all aspects of school operations. I cannot think of better representations of Windermere High School, and I can’t wait to celebrate them later this year at the OCPS Stellar Awards!
As we settle into the school year, we will begin to focus on our school-based policies and procedures. Students should have been provided a physical ID or access to the digital ID through Lenard’s. Students should be prepared to show their ID when trying to enter the school. Additionally, students with late arrival/early release should see those off-campus periods on their digital ID. Students should be in dress code every day, which can be found in our Student Code of Conduct. Finally, all students have been afforded the opportunity to pick up a school provided laptop. Periods 2 through 4 are available for student tech support in the media center.
I would ask that everyone be mindful of safe traveling practices to and from school. Walkers and bikers should stay on the sidewalks and only cross at designated crosswalks, at the appropriate time. Drivers should be extra cautious as it is still dark in the morning. I would ask that parents only drop off students in the designated area between the PAC and student union. I’ve noticed an increase in parking lot drop-offs, and this is becoming increasingly dangerous as students are trying to park and cross the street. Finally, students should properly lock all bikes and scooters in the bike rack.
I hope everyone has a great three-day weekend as we celebrate Labor Day! I will see students back on campus Tuesday, September 2.
As always, please be sure to regularly check our website and Facebook page for important updates.
