Annual Asbestos Plan Notification

The purpose of this communication is to promote awareness about the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Act to building occupants and parents. 
ASBESTOS HAZARD EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACT  

“NOTICE TO BUILDING OCCUPANTS AND PARENTS” 
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that each year the Local Education Agency (LEA) notify in writing parents, teachers, and employee organizations affiliated with your facility that the asbestos management plan is available. Pursuant to section 763.93(e)(12)(g)(4), this notice shall be dated and identified by the school/facility affiliation. 
Environmental Compliance has notified parents, school staff, and the unions via Connect Orange. The message states the following: 
“The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that each year the Local Education Agency (LEA) notify in writing parents, teachers, and employee organizations affiliated that asbestos management plans are available. 
The Annual Asbestos Plan Notifications and school lists, along with information and links to the U.S. EPA’s website on asbestos in schools, can be found on the OCPS Environmental Compliance internet site under Environmental Programs or at Annual Asbestos Plan Notification.
